Vassar College Class of ’32 Women’s Open
March 8-10, 2002

L-R: WISPA members Vanessa Atkinson, Engy Keirallah and Pamela Nimmo read copies of Squash Magazine while drying their hair in Vassar College’s locker room.

The vintage hairdryers were part of the original gym (Kenyon Hall), built in 1932. The school, located in Poughkeepsie, NY, was founded in 1861, and squash was first introduced in 1933 by Betty Richey who coached the squash team for 41 years.

Atkinson won the Women’s Open tournament in four over Rebecca Macree.
